Night 4 Recap
Songs/Opening
The sugar must be working. The kids had way more energy going into the last night of VBS. The energy was great tonight!
Game Time
The Bible Emoji Game - Guess what the Bible character based on the emoji or series of emojis on the screen.
The boys and girls took turns taking the lead, but the girls began pulling ahead by 3 wins. The boys managed to take a lead with some quick guess work.
The second category was Bible story titles. The boys held the lead almost the entire 2nd part, but the girls would not give up. The girls were up by one, then the boys were up by one, then they were tied! OH THE HUMANITY! The boys managed to seal the win in the last round. What an amazing finish!

Skit
Our skit opens tonight with Dale inadvertently helping Leroy carry the money so Leroy can make his getaway.
Karen and the gang burst in. Leroy is finally revealed as a fake, a phony! The real sheriff finally showed up.
The real sheriff attempts to put Leroy in his place, but this can only be settled by really bad fighting…or a duel! A really bad duel.
Leroy ends up making off with the money from the bank with a well placed distraction of, “Hey Look!” Works every time.
We come back to the present where Mississippi Johnson is talking about his memoir to the writer. Johnson is thinking about taking some time off and going to somewhere tropical. It may be time to hang up the cowboy hat.

Penny Drive
Tonight’s missionaries are Clay and Victoria Wanner, missionaries to the Philippines.
The boys showed no mercy tonight with filling their side of the scale and immediately taking the lead.
It was a back and forth the entire time, but the girls took a commanding lead and held strong! It didn’t look good for the boys. The girls had their bucket filled plus more lying around waiting for the boys to even attempt to try to catch up.
It took an eternity, but the boys found themselves with a large sum of donations on their behalf. The 5 gallon buckets teetering back and forth, the girls managed to take back the lead despite the best efforts of the boys.
And again a large donation came in for the boys, tipping the scales back in their favor. The girls didn’t give up though! The girls were able to tip the scales right back.
The boys received another donation in their favor, but despite all the efforts the girls just couldn’t be toppled!
And yet, the boys persist! In the end, the girls managed to pull ahead right before the final countdown.
The girls win!

Puppet Show
Tonight the Sheriff and the Buck and the gang came round to learn what the last thing they were wanted for.
The Sheriff explained that they were wanted for sanctification. Sanctification is the act of making something holy.
Peter was wanted by God. Peter rose up against a soldier who came to arrest Jesus. He pulled out his sword and cut off the soldier’s ear! Jesus told Peter to put his sword away and Jesus healed the soldier.
Peter also ended up denying he knew Jesus. Despite this, Peter was still wanted by God. Peter went on to do great things in the name of Jesus! Sanctification doesn’t mean perfect, but it does mean letting God help us become more like Jesus.
Being wanted by God doesn’t mean going to jail! It means being called into the service of God.

Preaching
Tonight’s preacher is Bro Ben Roberts.
Fishers of men.
All week we have heard about different people from the Bible. Tonight we’re going to hear more about Peter. Peter was the one disciple always getting in trouble. Peter just couldn’t help himself. He would say the wrong thing, or not thinking and doing the wrong things.
Peter saw Jesus do many things. In the mountain top experience in Matthew Chatper 17, Peter sees Jesus transform with clothes as white as snow and a face shining so brightly. In the midst of all of this, Peter can’t think of anything else except erecting a tabernacle for Moses and Elias.
Peter was close to Jesus, Peter was there after Jesus was taken away. He tried to stay close to Jesus, but when people saw him in the courtyard he begin denying that he even knew Jesus. Peter failed the test! When the rooster began to cry out, Peter knew what he did wrong.
The story didn’t stop here, though! Peter went on to do many things in the name of Jesus. Even if we do things wrong in our lives, even when we’re living in sin, it doesn’t matter. Jesus wants us to come to him! Now is the time to know for sure that if today was your last day alive, you know where you would go when you die. Heaven can be your home. You just have to believe on Jesus!
God wants you! All you have to do is surrender.
