Night 2 Recap
Songs/Opening
As loud and energetic the night started last night, the sound was even louder than that! The songs were awesome and the warm up was great!
Game Time
Due to some…uh..technical difficulties last night, we didn’t get to play There’s a Snake In My Boots! last night. We made up for it tonight by having two rounds.
The premise is simple! Battleship style guessing of which boot has a snake in it. Winners from the previous games get to try their luck guessing squares on a board. We had three winners across all the winners from the individual game rounds last night and tonight.
Tonight’s main game was indoor hockey. A bunch of balls are dumped into the middle of a narrow and a boy and a girl try to score as many goals as possible within 30 seconds.
Here’s how things shook down tonight: The boys won 4 rounds, and the girls won two rounds! Both teams put up a great fight tonight.

Skit
Cornelius introduced Johnson to the most wanted character: Leroy. Johnson took offense to the jabs at Leroy’s depiction on the wanted poster…hmmm kinda suspicious. Cornelius takes Johnson around for a tour of the town. After a bit of chatting, it was revealed the town is visited by a ruthless group known as the The Scouts. It doesn’t take long until The Scouts make an appearance. The town is penniless and scared of…Girl Scouts? These aren’t your average sweet Girl Scouts, these are the most ruthless two girls you’ve ever met. Johnson, being abandoned by the town, faces the girls alone.
In the end, Johnson is pushed to the ground by the girls and and they steal his boots!
The Scouts are definitely not to be messed with.

Penny Drive
Tonight’s missionary is Zach and Cassandra Foust: missionaries to Peru.
Strong start for the boys, but the girls quickly tipped the scales in their favor. It didn’t take toooo long for the boys to catch up. The scale teetered back and forth quiet a bit tonight! Ultimately the boys took the lead in the end and held the lead! Boys win tonight!
The Penny Drive is all tied up!
Last night’s total was $1,187.81 raised for missions! Tonight we saw another $789.43.
So far we’re at $1,977.24 total raised for missions! What a blessing!

Puppet Show
Buck found out tonight that he was still wanted by God! Not just for salvation, but for surrender as well! Surrender what though? God’s will of course!
The sheriff used the story of Samson as someone as who did not always do what was right and did not surrender when God asked him to.
Samson was strong. His strength came from God; as long as Samson was obeying God, his strength remained. Samson was warned not to have anything to do with the Philitines, and to definitely not to take one of their women for a wife. Delilah was put into Samson’s path to trick him and reveal what was the source of his strength. Delilah tricked Samson 3 times in revealing the secret to his strength. He finally revealed that his promise to God was to never cut his hair. It wasn’t that his hair gave him strength, but Samson promised to God that he would not cut his hair out of obedience.
Real strength doesn’t come from muscles or cowboy hats, it comes from obeying God!
Tomorrow night Buck gets to learn what wanted for service means.

Preaching
Tonight’s preacher is Mike Burton.
Continuing in the same theme as the puppet show, we take a bit of a deeper look into Samson’s life.
Samson was one of two people God called out for service before they were even born. That hasn’t changed much today. God still has a plan for everyone; He will call many to His service, but not all will answer the call. God knows who He will use before they even know it!
Sometimes we enjoy doing the right thing, and sometimes we really don’t like doing the right thing because it might not benefit us or isn’t popular. Samson was the same!
Samson allowed the neglect of his own countrymen to influence the decisions in his life. Samson was told not to take a wife of the Philistines, and he couldn’t even do that! He fell into the temptation. We all fail sometimes, but the biggest thing to remember is obeying God. God is still faithful to us even when we aren’t necessarily faithful to him. Even though God favored Samson, he was a tragic person of the Bible. At the end of his life, surrounded by enemies, Samson called upon God and surrendered to Him. In that moment, God heard Samson’s cry and gave him the strength to bring destruction to the Philistines.
As a Christian it is our duty to surrender to God; we shouldn’t fight Him. We should want to serve Him and be in God’s will.
